The 2024 CO Safety Summit will be hosted in coordination with the National Association of State Fire Marshals 34th Annual Fire Prevention & Safety Symposium.
Audience
The National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) is hosting our event. They will have approximately 300-400 fire service professionals, including fire marshals, public safety professionals, community risk reduction experts, and state educators/trainers. They anticipate representation from all 50 U.S. states and will be asking for at least one representative from each state to attend the CO Safety Summit programming. The CO Safety Summit will likely attract around 75 participants outside of the NASFM attendees and will include CO safety advocates and nonprofits, public health professionals, medical/clinical professionals, CO equipment manufacturers, state and federal government officials, and researchers.
The 2nd Annual CO Safety Summit will feature a wide range of topics that will be informative and timely. Hear from experts on the following topics:
-
Hearing from a survivor on how to influence change
-
Best practice sharing of CO education and messaging
-
Exploring carbon monoxide trends
-
CO codes update and the status of state implementation of new codes
-
Human factors in developing CO codes, standards, and regulation
-
Introduction of a new CO training program for the fire service
-
Update on CO safety efforts from outside the U.S., including Canada and the UK
-
Reexamining the CO alarm threshold
-

-
Indoor air pollution and its impact on healthy housing
-
